Good Faith Estimate
Your Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate
Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your mental health services before your first appointment.
What you can expect
- Your provider will give you a written estimate at least 1 business day before your scheduled service.
- You can ask your provider, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate in a safe place or take pictures of it.
